Main tasks and accomplishments:

  • Development of the joint European Commission / World Bank website on Economic Reconstruction and Development in South East Europe (at that time hosted at www.seerecon.org). This work included organizing the website structure and navigation, programming database applications in Java programming language and in ColdFusion, writing Perl scripts, maintenance of mailing list/subscription mechanism, regular updates and addition of new documents, creation of graphics, editing of photographs, conversion and integration of audio files and reporting on website usage statistics. In this I worked in close consultation with internal (World Bank and European Commission) website editors, as well as in liaison with providers of external content from the UN mission in Kosovo, Secretariat for Regional Electricity Market, and the World Bank team working on Trade and Transport Facilitation Project in South East Europe.
  • Development of European Commission / World Bank website on Private Participation of Mediterranean Infrastructure (at that time hosted at www.ppmi.org).
  • Development of the Infrastructure Steering Group (ISG) database for Regional Infrastructure Projects in South East Europe. The ISG included European Commission, The World Bank, European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Council of Europe Development Bank.
  • Processing information on donor financial pledges at the donors’ conferences and consultative group meetings on South East Europe countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia) and on Georgia, organized by the European Commission and the World Bank.
  • Processing information on donor financial pledges at the International Donors’ Conference for Iraq in Madrid in October 2003, organized by the Government of Spain.
  • Collecting and processing information on donor financial commitments and spending in South East Europe countries.
  • Support with databases and statistical analysis for the Joint EC/WB Office Annual Reports.
  • Good communication and coordination with the World Bank Web Admin Group, Information Solutions Group and the IT team for Europe and Central Asia region.
  • Implementation of standard World Bank technology and security policies, including the local network, server and all office hardware and software.
  • Support to European Commission staff in the office.
  • Assistance with budget planning for IT related issues.
  • Communication with local vendors for procurement and maintenance of hardware equipment and services.
